ၿပီးခဲ့သည့္ ႏွစ္၂၀၀၈ ေဖေဖၚ၀ါရီလက မိသားစုလိုက္ အသတ္ခံခဲ့ရသည့္ ရန္ကုန္ၿမိဳ႕စိမ္းလဲ့ကန္သာလမ္း လူသတ္မႈႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္ၿပီး ထပ္မံစံုစမ္းေဖၚထုတ္ျခင္း မျပဳရန္ နအဖ စစ္ေခါင္းေဆာင္ပုိင္းမွ ၫႊန္ၾကားထားေၾကာင္း ထိုအမႈႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္ၿပီး စံုုစမ္းေဖၚထုတ္ရာတြင္ ပါ၀င္ခဲ့သည့္ အမည္မေဖၚလိုသူ ရဲအရာရွိတဦးက ေျပာဆိုသည္။
 
အဆိုပါ ရဲအရာရွိက ေျပာဆိုရာတြင္ “ျဖစ္ခါစက ဒီအမႈက ရန္ကုန္ၿမိဳ႕က လူခ်မ္းသာ အလႊာကို ေတာ္ေတာ္ တုန္လႈပ္သြားခဲ့တယ္။ ႏိုင္ငံေတာ္ဧည့္ေဂဟာနဲ႔ ကပ္ေနလ်က္နဲ႔ ဘာေၾကာင့္ ေသနတ္သံမၾကားသလဲ ဆိုၿပီး အဲဒီအနားက လံုၿခံဳေရးေတြလည္း အစစ္ခံရ၊ ေနာက္ ရဲခ်ဳပ္ကိုတိုင္ ဆင္းလာၿပီး အခင္းျဖစ္တဲ့အိမ္မွာ ေသနတ္ေတာင္ စမ္းပစ္ႀကည့္ၿပီး ျပင္ပက အသံၾကားမၾကား စစ္ေဆးခဲ့ေသးတယ္။ သံုးထားတဲ့ က်ည္ဆံအေပၚ မူတည္ၿပီး အဲဒီေသနတ္အမ်ိဳးအစား ကိုင္ေဆာင္တဲ့သူ ေတြအားလံုး ေခၚေမးတာေတြ လုပ္ခဲ့တယ္၊ ဒါေပမယ့္ တျဖည္းျဖည္းနဲ႔ အမႈရုပ္လံုးေပၚလာခ်ိန္မွာ အထက္က အမိန္႔နဲ႔ အမႈကို ဆက္မလုိက္ေတာ့ဖို႔ ၫႊန္ၾကားလာတယ္၊ ဘာေၾကာင့္လဲ ဆိုတာမသိေပမယ့္ သဲလြန္စေတြက နအဖ ေခါင္းေဆာင္ပိုင္းကို ၫႊန္ျပေန တာေၾကာင့္လို႔ အားလံုး နားလည္လိုက္ၾကတယ္”

ယမန္နွစ္ဆန္းက ျဖစ္ပ်က္ခဲ့သည့္ စိမ္းလဲ့ကန္သာလမ္း လူသတ္မႈတြင္ ေတာင္ပိုင္ေစာ္ဘြား၏ သားျဖစ္သူ ဦးခ်ာလီ၊ ဇနီးျဖစ္သူ ေဒၚစန္းစန္းျမႏွင့္ သမီးႏွစ္ေယာက္၊ အိမ္ေဖၚတေယာက္ စုစုေပါင္း ၅ေယာက္ရက္စက္စြာ အသတ္ခံခဲ့ရၿပီး ေနအိမ္မွ မီးခံေသတၱာ ၁၀လံုးအနက္ ၇လံုးမွ ရတနာႏွင့္ ေဒၚလာေငြမ်ား ယူေဆာင္သြားခဲ့ၿပီး သားမက္ျဖစ္သူ ဦးသုေဇာ္မွာ ၃လခန္႔ေခၚယူ စစ္ေဆးျခင္းခံခဲ့ရသည္။ ေဒၚစန္းစန္းျမမွာ ဖဆပလခတ္က မိုးကုတ္သူေဌး ဦးျမေမာင္၏ သမီးျဖစ္ၿပီး ရန္ကုန္ၿမိဳ႕၏ အခ်မ္းသာဆံုး စာရင္း၀င္ မိသားစု တစုျဖစ္သည္။

နအဖ စစ္ေခါင္းေဆာင္ ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္မွဴးႀကီး သန္းေရႊ၏ သမီးျဖစ္သူ မဂၤလာေဆာင္တြင္ ၀တ္ဆင္ထားသည့္ လက္၀တ္ရတနာစိန္ထည္မ်ားမွာ အသတ္ခံရသူ ေဒၚစန္းစန္းျမတို႔၏ ပစၥည္းျဖစ္ၿပီး ဦးခ်ာလီေဒၚစန္းစန္းျမတို႔က နအဖ ေခါင္းေဆာင္ သားသမီးမ်ားကို လက္၀တ္ရတနာမ်ား ငွားရမ္းေပးထားခဲ့သည္ဆိုသည္ သတင္းမ်ားလည္း ရန္ကုန္ၿမိဳ႕ရွိ လူကံုထံ အသိုင္းအ၀ိုင္းတြင္ ထြက္ေပၚေနခဲ့ၿပီး ထိုဆက္ဆံေရးေၾကာင့္ ရက္စက္စြာ အသတ္ခံရျခင္း ျဖစ္သည္ဟု ယံုၾကည္လ်က္ရွိၾကသည္။

ရင္းခ်ာသည့္ ေဆြမ်ိဳးသားခ်င္းမက်န္ရွိပဲ သားမက္ျဖစ္သူ တဦးသာ က်န္ရွိခဲ့ကာ ေနအိမ္မွ က်န္ရစ္ခဲ့သည့္ တန္ဘိုးမနည္း လွသည့္ ရတနာမ်ားႏွင့္ ေငြမ်ားကို ရဲဘက္မွ သိမ္းဆည္းသြားခဲ့သည္ဟုလည္း သိရွိရသည္။ က်ိက်ိတက္ ခ်မ္းသာသည့္ မိသားစုမွာ ေသဆံုးၿပီးေနာက္ အေလာင္းျပင္ရန္ အ၀တ္အစားကို သူတို႔ပိုင္ဆိုင္သည့္ အိမ္မွ ယူခြင့္မရွိပဲ ေဆြမ်ိဳးသားခ်င္းေတြက ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္ေစ်းမွ ခပ္ေပါေပါ အ၀တ္အစားကို ၀ယ္ယူၿပီး ဆင္ေပးခဲ့ရသည္ဟုလည္း အသုဘတြင္ သတင္းသြားယူခဲ့သည့္ သတင္းေထာက္တဦးကေျပာ ဆိုသည္။

Philippines lost a National Treasure

 

MANILA (Reuters) - 

Corazon Aquino of the Philippines, whose conquest of one of the 20th century's most corrupt dictators made her a global icon of democracy, died on Saturday after a 16-month battle against colon cancer. She was 76.

Her family announced she died in the early hours of Saturday at the hospital where she had been admitted over one month ago. A private mass was held in her room shortly before her death, and all five children were at her bedside when the end came.

"Our mother peacefully passed away at 3:18 a.m. (1918 GMT Friday) of cardio-respiratory arrest," her son, Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., told reporters.

Born on January 25, 1933 into one of the country's richest families, the Cojuangcos, Aquino grew up in a world of wealth and politics, being the daughter of a three-time congressman. She married Benigno, one of the country's most promising politicians, and they had four daughters and a son before he was thrown into prison by Marcos and then forced into exile.

Aquino seemed frail in later years, but was still game for a fight when she thought it necessary. She brought half a million people onto the street in the 1990s when her successor Ramos flirted with the idea of trying to extend his term in office. 

She was involved in protests that brought an end to the presidency of Joseph Estrada in 2001, and has supported the campaign to remove current President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo after her one-time ally was accused of corruption and election fraud.

Arroyo, who is in the United States on a visit, announced a 10-day period of national mourning and said in a message: "Today the Philippines lost a national treasure. She helped lead our nation to a brighter day."

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said: "Like millions of people worldwide, Bill (former U.S. President Bill Clinton) and I were inspired by her quiet strength and her unshakable commitment to justice and freedom. We join the American and Filipino people in honoring her life and memory."

Her arch-foe Imelda Marcos, who returned to the Philippines after her husband died in exile, said: "Now that Cory is with the Lord, let us all unite and pray for the Filipino people."
